It’s not just a tree. The century-old plane tree that stands tall in our garden is the silent witness to a century of stories, encounters, and transformations. Planted in the early 1900s, it saw the birth of the original inn, welcomed travelers from every era, and offered shade to generations of residents and guests.
Over time, our vision grew around it: a place that combines memory and hospitality, sustainability and community. Under its branches, bocce games, summer dinners, sunset conversations, and moments of simple, authentic relaxation have taken place.
Today, Il Platano is much more than a natural symbol: it is the heart of our B\&B’s identity, the point where everything converges — history, nature, and people. We invite every guest to pause there, even just for a moment, and listen to the slow breath of this extraordinary tree.
