The Bocce Court of Il Platano: A Story of Family and Togetherness
In the heart of the Piano di Magadino, next to the centuries-old plane tree that gives the building its name, the bocce court has been an irreplaceable meeting point for decades. Built in the ’90s as a simple and functional pavilion, it hosted slow and precise games, played between grandparents, parents, and grandchildren, often more for the joy of company than competition.
It was a time when the scent of coffee mingled with the sound of rolling bocce balls, and every match was an opportunity to exchange stories and smiles. The bocce court was more than just a playing field: it was a small everyday theater of social life and shared memories.
Over time, the facility lost its central role, victim of management changes and the new rhythms of life. But the memories remained alive, so much so that in 2022, with the renovation of Il Platano, it was natural to consider its revival.
Today, the bocce court is alive again. Carefully restored but without betraying its essence, it once again welcomes guests, travelers, and locals for carefree games, events, and moments of genuine connection. An invitation, simple and sincere, to slow down and reunite, just like in the old days.
